Laundry Tablets

You may have already heard about laundry sheets. It’s the process of pressing detergents into a thin sheet, and its primary goal is to help eliminate plastics in landfills. However, most laundry sheets also contain PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol), a synthetic polymer that helps to hold the sheet together. It is thought to fully degrade in the wastewater; however, there are mixed views about the effects of PVA on the environment. Enter Laundry Tablets, another eco-friendly laundry detergent option.

PVA Free Tablets

There are only a few brands of laundry tablets out there, but they are trying hard to do their part to help create a cleaner planet. In fact, Blueland makes claims on their website of being 100% plastic-free, and states that its laundry tablets do not contain PVAs. So while you may be divided on whether PVA is really a bad thing for the environment or not, now you don’t have to guess anymore. This product resolves the issue.

Where are Laundry Tablets Made?

While searching Blueland’s website for a manufacturing location, we couldn’t find the answer. So we asked them, but got a message that was contradictory to say the least. Below is their actual word-for-word “Blueland Bot” generated statement. So while it started by saying “ALL,” they ended by saying that some are not. Maybe bots just don’t know the difference yet between all and some. Nevertheless, some of their products do travel quite a distance to get here.

“We proudly manufacture all of our products in the USA! Our Forever Bottles are designed in the United States and responsibly manufactured in China.”

Laundry Detergent Jugs in a Landfill use Laundry Tablets

Plastics in Laundry

You may be wondering, why would anyone even care about such a small thing? We care because it’s not such a small thing. In fact, every year, approximately 1 billion plastic laundry detergent jugs end up in landfills. That’s incredible, especially considering that most of them are made of HDPE plastics, which are recyclable. So, if you aren’t ready to give up your favorite detergent brand, consider at the very least recycling the jug.

Laundry Tablet Brands

There were only a couple of brands that we could find that made Laundry Tablets. Unlike laundry sheets, which offer a plethora of brands to choose from. Check out our article about those brands here>>.
