Plaid Fashion
The runways were full of plaids for this year’s winter season. Coats, scarves, dresses, shirts, and pants. If it is plaid, it was a go. The color scheme for these seemed like anything goes.
DRESSed in Plaid
Dresses for the winter season are usually calf-length, making them warm and cozy. However, this year, there is also a trend to wear mini dresses and skirts paired with tights, knee, or ankle boots.
We also noticed that pant and skirt sets were a thing. Skirts – long or short – worn over a pair of usually wide-leg pants. A lot of these outfits also appear to be made from tweed or knitted materials rather than the usual cotton/flannel.
The plaid dress below can be found on Amazon for $59. In this picture, they have paired it with a basic button-front shirt, adding a touch of class to an otherwise basic dress. Other colors and variations of this same dress can be found by clicking here.
Plaid Tops & Jackets
If you’re like me, plaid shirts are just a part of your normal closet routine. However, this year plaid is going beyond the standard flannel shirt and moving into tweeds and knit fabrics as vests, blazers, sweaters and more.
I’m cheap, though, and spending more than $20 on a shirt is too much. Enter my love for the Marshalls, Ross, and TJ Maxx lines of stores. After all, who doesn’t love finding name brands at affordable prices (No, I wasn’t paid to say that)? So, below are some affordable plaid items you may come to love.
You can buy all of these on Amazon, and they are also on-trend for this year’s winter season. Many of them come in a variety of colors and will even look good going into the spring season.
If by now you are seeing a trend toward sholastic or preppy. You are right, this winter is all about modern prep. View even more 25/26 winter fashion trends on this blog.
Accessories To Match
Plaid accessories may not go well with the plaid dress or shirt, but you could pair them with other fashion trends to bring it all together. Think scarves, hats, gloves, purses, socks, or shoes.
And since pops of red are a must for the season, a red, plaid pair of shoes may be just the thing to pop out from under your jeans or slacks. Or perhaps a red scarf tied neatly in your hair. After all, when it comes to trends and fashions, it’s just a matter of finding a trend that you are comfortable wearing. So have fun and enjoy this season’s fashionable plaids.
